Every new account is enrolled in the free New Student Orientation automatically. It explains how the certification process works and how to get around the site.
It is recommended, not required
The orientation sits at the top of your Operator's Dashboard until you finish it, and it is the first stop on the guided pathway. It does not lock anything: your Operator's Dashboard, the drills and every course you have access to are open from your first visit, whether you have started it or not.
It is still worth doing first. It takes a few minutes and it covers things that will otherwise cost you an hour of hunting around later.
How to finish it
- Sign in and press "Start the Orientation" (or "Continue the Orientation") on your Operator's Dashboard.
- Read each lesson, then press "Mark Complete & Continue".
- When every lesson is complete the card disappears from your Operator's Dashboard.
Good to know
- The orientation is always free, even for people without a subscription.
- Your place is saved as you complete lessons, so you can stop and come back.
- If the rest of the Operator's Dashboard is missing, finishing the orientation is almost always the reason.
