Swing cab (TLL)
Candidates are expected to read a load chart, not recall one: rated capacities, the deductions, the operating notes and the machine's own specifications. Print it, mark it up, and work the practice questions on the paper copy the way you will on exam day.
Study the whole print-out. The notes around the tables carry rules that the tables do not.
The charts
- Link-Belt RTC-8050 — the chart the swing cab courses are taught on. Printable copy.
- The same chart in Introduction to Load Charts, where a guided tour walks you round it part by part before you solve anything on it.
Where it is used
- Swing Cab I — finding a gross capacity, values between the printed numbers, net capacity and deductions, and when the hook limits the lift.
- Swing Cab II — boom modes, the offset fly, winch line pulls and the deductions that come with them.
