There are a lot of courses here, and "which one now?" is a worse question than it looks. Your study plan answers it: what you are studying for, and how you want to take it.
Your study plan
The first time your Operator's Dashboard opens you are asked three things:
- Do you need the Core? The Core is required to be certified. Choose No only if you already hold it, for example when you are adding a specialty.
- Which specialties? Swing Cab (TLL), Fixed Cab (TSS) and Lattice Boom Crane (LAT). Choose any; not every operator takes every one.
- Which pathway? See below.
You are not stuck with the answers. Change Plan at the top of the Training Yard asks them again.
The three pathways
- New Trainee Pathway — coming soon: a training path and educational courses made for new operators. It is shown greyed out and can't be chosen yet.
- Refresher Pathway — for operators who already know their way around a crane: the Core and your specialties, in the order we recommend. (It used to be called the Mainline Pathway.)
- No Pathway — no set order. Every course you have access to opens straight away. Not recommended unless you know exactly what you need.
A pathway leaves out what your plan leaves out: no Core courses if you don't need the Core, and no specialty you are not taking.
What a pathway does while you are on it
- Your Operator's Dashboard leads with one thing: the next stop on the route, with a button that takes you straight into it.
- Your Route shows the whole run in order, with what is done, what is next and what is still ahead.
- Courses further along the route stay closed until you reach them. That is the point — it is a route, not a menu.
Leaving it
Under Your Route there is "Forget the pathway — let me pick my own courses". Take it and everything you have access to opens at once, the same as choosing No Pathway. Nothing you have finished is lost.
Courses that are not in your plan
A course your plan leaves out is listed under Not in Your Plan at the bottom of the Training Yard. Nothing there is required of you, and you can still take any of it. A subscription is still needed to open the courses, whatever your plan.
