Updates (Changelog) - October 3, 2026
Support (formerly Tutoring)
- Tutoring is now Support, and it is open to every account at any time, subscribed or not, including while you are still in the Introduction.
- Anyone can open a Support Ticket for a general question, billing, technical support or a bug report. Give it a title, pick a category, describe the issue and attach screenshots.
- Subscribers can still ask an instructor for course help, with the Ask an Instructor button beside Create Support Ticket. Without a subscription the button is locked and explains why.
- Old Tutoring links and bookmarks still work.
Practice Exams
- Report Question: a new button at the top of practice exams, daily quizzes, the mock exam and the answer review. If you think an answer is wrong or a question does not make sense, describe it in the popup and it goes straight to the instructors. You never leave the exam.
- Exam tools: the Notepad and Calculator have a new look, the Notepad fills its window, and the Calculator takes keyboard input.
- On load chart questions the Notepad suggests a gross-to-net layout to work in.
- Set-up tables on load chart questions always show the same 13 rows in the same order.
Swing Cab I
- Chart drills: endless practice questions made from the real load chart (gross capacity, a radius that is not listed, net capacity), with the working shown straight away and streaks to keep.
- After an exam you can go through every answer. Chart questions replay their working step by step on the chart (Show me how); the others point to the exact table, row and column (Show me where).
- Chart tour: five "your turn" stops where you tap the value on the chart yourself, and it fits each part of the chart to a phone screen.
- Walkthroughs save your progress and pick up where you left off, and the last question of walkthroughs 1 to 3 is tried on your own first.
Lessons
- Lessons now run as one continuous page. Reaching the end of a lesson completes it and loads the next one underneath, with no Next button to press.
- Knowledge checks no longer give the answer away, and chart tips open with a tap.
Accounts and Profiles
- Sign in with Google is available on the sign-in and registration pages.
- Public member profiles, with an earned badge as your picture. Guests can view profiles, and course progress and scores show on every profile.
- The Subscriber and Core Completion badges are now awarded automatically, and there are eight more badge shapes.
Site Pages
- The Dashboard is now called the Training Center, across the site, the lessons and the help articles.
- A new Features page, and the home page was reorganized for first-time visitors.
- Signed-out visitors get a second menu bar with Home, Get Certified, Features, Courses and Contact.
- The site now names the exams it prepares you for: the CCO Mobile Crane Operator written exams. Whipline Crane Academy is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by CCO.
- The free demo page was rebuilt, with a screenshot on each demo and a free-account offer for the 25-question practice exam.
UI/UX Changes
- A new look across the whole site: a blueprint background with a drawn mobile crane and an industrial unit behind it, and frosted panels behind the text so it stays easy to read.
- Titled sections carry a slanted tab with their name. Corners are tighter and outlines a little heavier everywhere.
- The menu bar is shorter and stays the same height as you scroll. The page you are on is marked with a slanted blue block, and the logo sits on its own plate.
- The sign-in page's side panel now follows the light and dark theme.
- Pages load faster when moving around the site, and a loading outline appears straight away on a slow page.
Fixes
- Fixed new accounts going round in circles after accepting the Terms of Service or choosing "certifying" or "recertifying".
- The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy can now be read before finishing the Introduction.
- Fixed several other places where a student could be sent back and forth between the Training Center and the Introduction.
- My Profile no longer points to an old name after you change your display name.
