Updates (Changelog) - September 23 to October 2, 2026
New Content
Introduction: every new account now starts with a short guide to the program and a free 25-question starting assessment on Core. It is free for everyone, subscribed or not, and your score is kept so you can see how far you have come.
Fixed Cab (TSS) is now a complete course. It has three practice exams: a knowledge exam, a load chart exam and a 32-question final exam.
Three new Knowledge Base guides on load charts: How to Read a Load Chart, Load Chart Terms, and Deductions: Gross Capacity to Net Capacity. They explain the method and the process, step by step.
The Hand and Audible Signals guide now shows the full chart of all twenty standard hand signals.
Questions and Exams
Every load chart question was reviewed against the correct method for gross and net capacity, and wording was tidied.
Line pull questions now say exactly what they mean. "Available line pull" (what the hoist can pull) and "permissible line pull" (the safe limit from the rope's strength) are no longer mixed up.
Duplicate questions were merged and typos and double spaces were fixed.
Instructors can now correct the answer on a question that students have already answered. Scores from past attempts are not changed.
Learning Pathway
The Mainline Pathway order is now: Math Refresher 101, Core I, Introduction to Load Charts, Swing Cab I, Core II, Fixed Cab I, Core III, Swing Cab II, Core IV, Fixed Cab II, then the Core Final Assessment.
Core I opens straight away on the pathway.
Math Refresher 101 and Introduction to Load Charts can be skipped with a red Skip Course button, on the dashboard and on the course page.
Course pages have a clear Return to Dashboard button.
Fixed a problem where some brand-new accounts could get stuck going round in circles, and fixed the Easy daily quiz showing as locked.
Site Pages
The homepage was rebuilt to lead with the problem. It now shows real previews of the exam screen, a load chart question and the analytics, and has a new Try It band at the top (free demo, and a free account for a 25-question practice exam).
The new Who Runs the Academy section covers who is behind the program: former crane operators and riggers with 10+ years of verifiable field experience, who are also experienced instructors.
Get Certified is now organized by type. Mobile Crane Operator has Core, TLL and TSS, with LBC coming soon. Rigging and Signalling has Rigger Level 1, Rigger Level 2 and Signalperson, all coming soon. Tower Crane Operator is coming soon under Other Crane Types.
The Subscription page now compares us more properly with classroom courses and other online prep.
Better search and social sharing for the site and the knowledge base.
UI/UX Changes
Light theme is now the default for new visitors. Main text is darker, and headings inside panels no longer look washed out.
A new animated background of drifting dust, soft light beams and flowing lines, for both light and dark themes. It stays still if your device is set to reduce motion.
The navigation bar shrinks to half its height as you scroll, so it stays out of the way.
The footer notice was redesigned.
Fixed garbled characters (dashes, dots and quotes) that were showing on the dashboard and the Get Certified page.
